Here’s some great news for those who’ve been waiting to head to the mountains of Uttarakhand. Travellers and tourists are now welcome to the state to explore the misty mountains and more.
The state has been reopened for tourists with a new set of rules and restrictions owing to the pandemic threat. As per the government of Uttarakhand, hotels and homestays located outside the containment zones would be open for business. However, there are certain guidelines and restrictions set by the government that are to be followed and observed if you’re planning to visit Uttarakhand during this season.
Medical Reports Verification
The travellers who come from other states in India are to upload their latest COVID-19 test reports on the web portal https://smartcity dehradun.uk.gov.in. The medical reports of the travellers would be verified by the concerned authorities at the state’s check-posts.
Verification At The Hotel/Homestay
All hotels, homestays and other stay options are to ensure that all the guests have taken the RT-PCR tests from an ICMR-authorised lab not earlier than 72 hours from the arrival, and submit the negative reports at the hotel.
Travellers From Outside India
Those who visit the state from outside India are to register on the government website and undergo a 14-days quarantine, of which first 7 days would be institutional quarantine and next 7 days home quarantine.
Other Travel Guidelines
- Though inter-district travellers also have to register themselves on the web portal prior to the journey, they are exempted from quarantine.
- There is no limit set for the duration of the stay/visit. However, hotels are to take bookings for a minimum of 7 days from all tourists.
- Bars within the hotel premises are not allowed to open, but liquor services can be carried out as a part of room service with social distancing and other safety measures followed.
