The 122-year old event organized by the Tamil Nadu government is held at the Ooty Botanical Garden every year in the month of May. Avalanche Lake

Nilgiri Mountain Railway (NMR)
A trip to Ooty is considered incomplete if you do no explore the amazing ‘Nilgiri Mountain Railway’. Built by the British in the year 1908, it connects Mettupalayam to Ooty via Coonoor. The hugely famous ‘Chaiya Chaiya’ song from Dil Se movie amongst others has been shot here. The train covers around 46 km and passes through breathtaking green valleys, innumerable steep curves, jaw-dropping trails, rolling tea estates and so on promising you a train journey experience of a lifetime!
